We remember John as an early member of SWV and a great outdoorsman. He taught many of us Winter survival skills, one of his specialties. The following is his obituary: "John Joseph Kretschmann, 85, of Belmont and Sonora, California, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, John lived a life brimming with adventure, love, and a passion for the outdoors. A Leave No Trace event is possible on Friday, July 4th 2025, Independence Day weekend, A project lead is needed for this event. Of course, we also need other volunteers to participate.
