Two New Projects Available : July 7-8 & August 14-16

July 7-8 Tues-Wed Emigrant Wilderness-Crabtree TH (108 Corridor)

What: Trail brushing, campsite/campfire clean-up, small tree removal, recon for future work projects
Where: Crabtree to Camp and Bear Lakes
How: We’ll camp at the TH on Tuesday night to get an early start on Wed morning. There is a campsite to the left of the TH sign. Look for Sherri’s silver Tacoma truck parked nearby. Car camping.
We’ll be leaving the TH at Crab Tree by 8 am. July 8th to beat the heat
Project is limited to 8 participants and we need a minimum of 3.
Expect hot weather so we’ll need to carry all our water.
Wear durable pants since we expect white thorn and other scratchy shrubs on the trail, long sleeves, hat, gloves, day pack, lunch. Bring a swimsuit if you want to take dip in the lakes.
Sherri will contact members who have signed up by June 30th with more details.

August 14-16 Highland Lakes Campground

What: Campground maintenance, pour cement ramp on upper campground bathroom, trail recon and light trail maintenance work
Where: Highland Lakes Campground off Highway 4-Road can be very rutted. high, 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended.
How: We’ll camp on the 14th,meeting by 6 for dinner. Sherri will provide the first dinner and then you can provide your own food in a communal eating area. Evan has committed to reserve a campsite or 2 for us since the campground usually fills up on the weekends. We had no problem getting a couple site 2 years ago.


Evan Watson will provide Seasonal Ranger support 1-2 people. More details to come on the project.
