Tuolumne County is hosting the rescheduled Tuolumne Volunteer Fair on Thursday, May 23 from 4-7 PM at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora. Stanislaus Wilderness Volunteers will be represented at the fair in an effort to spread awareness of our mission of the organization and to recruit volunteers. We welcome interested folks to attend the fair as well as sending this information to any of your friends and colleagues who have an interest in volunteering and preserving Wilderness. The weather is changing so perhaps spring is on the horizon. Stanislaus Wilderness Volunteers (SWV) are planning our upcoming season for projects. Good evening (evening as I write this)Today was a pristine fall day in the Sierra’s. Crisp, clear, windless. There had been a dusting of snow two days earlier, leaving its white traces in the shadowed places adding a dimension of color to the fading fall colors. The team — Craig Fish, Dave Salzer, Dick Chimenti and Paul Wagner and myself set out to take out 3, potentially 4 trees. It turned out there were 9 trees that needed attention.
