Leave No Trace (LNT) Event update
The August 22 Leave No Trace event allowed SWV to interact with about 33 backpackers, emphasizing the LNT principles, assisting with backcountry information and promoting SWV. Attended by Ron and Carl. Thanks Ron!
The very busy Labor Day weekend is approaching with a great opportunity to inform and influence backcountry visitors. The USFS appreciates the support greatly, especially during this weekend. We will be at the Sugar Pine USFS station. We expect this to be a very busy and important time to support LNT principles and the USFS. There will be examples on how to store food in the backcountry (canisters, counter balance), permissible distance from water for camping, and other LNT principles. We will also inform visitors about backcountry information, directions and promote the SWV and activities.
Suitable for those with LNT experience or new to the program. Please see links for additional LNT information on the SWV Project page (Click here <docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Mybw3bGYbLQjSx-jOXy6FdudtB976XqTqcK0x1tDXuQ/edit?gid=821055629#gid=821055629> ).
