Stanislaus Wilderness Volunteers will be hosting another trail clearing on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023.The project will consist of tree removal from the Sword Lake trail in the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness. Recent reconnaissance indicates 8-10 trees outside of wilderness with another 25-30 inside wilderness.
The team will meet at Summit Ranger Station, 1 Pinecrest Road, Pinecrest CA at 8:30 am to gather equipment and do the safety briefing. Participants are advised to wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, sturdy boots and have appropriate PPE (gloves, eye/hearing protection, hard hat). There are a limited number of hard hats available at the Ranger Station. There may be some extras available as well from some of the crew.
As always, be prepared for changes in weather conditions.
