The first of the season’s Leave No Trace event is approaching quickly. We will be at the Sugar Pine (formerly Summit) USFS station Saturday, August 22, 9-3. Goal is to assist the USFS in LNT education of backcountry visitors. We expect this to be a warm-up for the very busy Labor Day weekend LNT days. We will have examples on how to store food in the backcountry (canisters, counter balance), permissible distance from water for camping, and other LNT principles. We will also inform visitors about backcountry information, directions and promote the SWV and activities.
