There are a LOT of opportunities this season to participate. See below.
At the booth you have the opportunity to engage with visitors planning on entering the Wilderness! During these public interactions you can educate hikers about Leave No Trace Principles, provide guidance about route information, wilderness safety, and help people fill out the Self Issue Permits for Wilderness.
The booth dates will be as follows:
- Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day (May 21-22),
- Juneteenth (June 19 – 20),
- Labor Day (September 3 – 4).
- Saturdays in June, and July, and the First Two Saturdays in August.
We will host two training dates in May (The form asks you to choose 1)
- Friday, May 1, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm — Summit Ranger Station
- Friday, May 8, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm — Summit Ranger Station
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this form with your name, contact information and which training date you can attend. If you cannot attend one of these training dates, please note that as well. We will send out more information and a summer sign up list in mid to late April.
